Vehicle appraisal for the UK motor trade
Rental & leasing · Trade-held camera

Fair wear and tear, itemised and evidenced.

Each finding is judged against our implementation of the BVRLA fair wear and tear guide, with the measurement, the threshold and the frame kept together.

de-fleet bay · vehicle return
Chargeable, acceptable, needs inspectionThree verdicts, each with the rule that produced it. Items the system cannot price are shown as unpriced, never as zero.
Retained evidenceFrames are kept with the report for six months, so a recharge raised weeks later still has its still.
Honest about the standardThresholds follow the published guide. We do not claim BVRLA verification or endorsement, and the report does not either.

A recharge that carries its own proof

Measurement against threshold, verdict, price, frame. The four things a disputed recharge needs.

A de-fleet return, step by step

  1. STEP 1Film the return in the bayYour inspector follows the guided route on a phone: plate, odometer, eight panel stops, engine. About a minute, with motion, blur and poor light flagged while there is still time to refilm.
  2. STEP 2Judge each finding against the guideEach finding is set against the tolerance for that panel or component in our implementation of the BVRLA guide, and comes back acceptable, chargeable or needs inspection, with the measurement and the threshold beside it.
  3. STEP 3Price what is chargeableChargeable items are priced from the repair matrix where a rate exists, and shown as unpriced where one does not. Nothing is charged: a person reviews the findings beside the frames and decides.
  4. STEP 4Answer the recharge laterFrames are kept with the report for six months. When the recharge is questioned weeks after the return, the finding still opens to its still.

What it replaces

  • A tolerance applied by eye, differently from one inspector to the next.
  • A recharge argued from a photograph nobody can tie to the line it supports.

Getting the report out

  • Report PDF, per appraisal, with each verdict, its measurement and its frame.
  • A partner API with scoped keys, for sending a registration and a video URL and reading the verdicts back.
  • Charging and invoicing stay in your own systems. The appraisal stops at the reviewed finding.
Questions

What this page gets asked.

Is a verdict a charge?

No. A chargeable verdict says the item is outside tolerance under our implementation of the guide. Whether it is recharged is decided by a person on your team, and payment is not part of the product at all.

What happens when the footage cannot tell?

The finding is marked needs inspection, which is a verdict in its own right. It hands the question to a person rather than guessing, and it is never quietly counted as acceptable or as chargeable.

Can the customer film the return themselves?

Not today. Customer self-return is in development, as early access with no published date, and it does not appear in the demo. Today the walkaround is filmed by your team.

Are the thresholds the BVRLA's own?

They follow the published fair wear and tear guide, and each finding shows the threshold it was judged against. They are our implementation of that document. The BVRLA has not verified or endorsed the product.
